The University of Maine System (UMS) has finally agreed to follow President Donald Trump’s executive order to keep transgender women (biological males) out of women’s sports. Trump threatened to cut funding to the universities if they didn’t comply with the executive order. Gov. Janet Mills originally threatened to take Trump’s administration to court, but that was just her speaking out loud – never putting anything to it, then caving in to the order which most people on the planet support anyway.
UMS has eight colleges in it and they already dealt with a temporary funding pause from the USDA, said Fox News. So it’s clear they needed their funding and allowing males to compete in women’s sports was not worth it to lose money. Plus, this is better as it allows women’s sports to go back to normal. Fox News reported that UMS will be in “full compliance.”
