Mark Wahlberg Gets Fed Up With California, Moves To Nevada For 1 Important Reason

After moving to Hollywood at the beginning of his acting career, Mark Wahlberg has become fed up with California. In fact, most middle-class Americans will understand the one important reason why the Patriot’s Day star says he left the Golden State behind and moved to Nevada.

Mark Wahlberg grew up on the hard streets of Boston, Massachusetts, and he ultimately ended up moving to California to pursue acting. However, after living around those entangled in the Hollywood lifestyle, Wahlberg became concerned for his four children. “A lot of Hollywood is living in a bubble,” Wahlberg said in an interview. “They’re pretty out of touch with the common person, the everyday guy out there providing for their family.”

According to Yahoo News, Mark Wahlberg no longer calls Hollywood home. The Uncharted star revealed he moved to Nevada for the simple reason to give his kids “a better life.” Wahlberg appeared on The Talk where he addressed the problems of balancing being a present father and husband while at the same time juggling the demands of commercial realities.

“Departing the Democrat stronghold of California and what he has previously decried as the ‘Hollywood bubble’ helped in that process,” Breitbart reported. “That is the biggest challenge,” Wahlberg said. “Every free moment that I have, I’m at home.” The Boston native is committed to creating a new studio in Nevada “and make this Hollywood 2.0” while spending as much time as he can with his family.

Wahlberg also explained building this new “state-of-the-art studio” in the Silver State made much more sense than in California where taxes are high. “I moved to Nevada where after this gubernatorial election, hopefully, it will go to legislation and get a bill passed so we can get a tax credit for the state,” he said about his business plans. Walhberg’s studio will deliver projects that could bring new jobs to Nevadans.

Wahlberg has similar plans for “a shoe factory and a factory for Municipal,” the Sport Utility Gear apparel company he co-founded. “I want to be able to work from home,” he said. “I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting, and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there.”

The veteran actor continued to explain why he left California. “So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son as a golfer, this made a lot more sense for us,” he added. Wahlberg and his wife, Rhea Durham, have four children. Three resided at home at the time of the move.

“So, we came here to just kind of give ourselves a new look, a fresh start for the kids, and there’s lot of opportunity here,” Wahlberg concluded. “I’m really excited about the future.” According to reports, quality of life over the passing delights of Hollywood fame has long been a focus for Wahlberg. The actor, producer, businessman, former rapper, and now fitness mavin revealed in 2018 that his day starts at 2:30 in the morning each day, long before everyone else is awake.

After 30 minutes of morning prayers and a 3 AM breakfast, Wahlberg immediately does a 95-minute workout. He then eats another meal on the tail of the first day’s workout, showers, has a snack, plays golf, and then undergoes a “cryo chamber recovery” treatment. This is all before 10:30 AM, and he does this every day. Bedtime, he says, is 7:30 each evening with plenty of time left in between to spend with his wife and children.

With such a focus on his work/life balance, Wahlberg has no time for political activism, something he has previously counseled his fellow Hollywood A-listers on by telling them to stick to entertaining Americans and stop trying to push their politics on the country. “A lot of celebrities did, do, and shouldn’t [talk about politics], Wahlberg told Task & Purpose, a news and analysis outlet geared toward American service veterans.

After Donald Trump won the 2016 election, Wahlberg was asked about the seemingly endless number of celebrities who bashed the new president-elect. “You know, it just goes to show you that people aren’t listening to that anyway,” the actor said. “They might buy your CD or watch your movie, but you don’t put food on their table. You don’t pay their bills.”
