Co-host on ABC’s “The View,” Sunny Hostin, has faced backlash after she made critical comments about Brittany Mahomes for liking a social media post shared by former President Donald Trump outlining “the 2024 GOP Platform.” Following this, Mahomes faced ruthless criticism from liberals across social media as people concluded that she was a Trump supporter.
During a recent segment, the panelists on “The View” addressed the social media activity, slamming Mahomes. “It just seems to me that since she is in an interracial marriage, she should have known that to support a racist is problematic, her children are biracial and her family is one of the families, that in the ’70s could not have lived in any of Donald Trump’s buildings,” Hostin said, referring to accusations of discriminatory practices from Trump.
Hostin further suggested that Mahomes was politically incompetent, stating. “It just seems to me that maybe she’s just not that politically savvy or maybe she’s just not read in,” she said. Following Hostin’s comments about the wife of the superstar Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, users on social media sounded off on the remarks.
One user blasted the panel for not respecting the political opinions of their fellow Americans. “People should be free to vote for who they want and tell people about it. It’s kind of sort of what freedom means. Like God could force us all to love him but then that wouldnt be love. Let people vote for who they want without ruining their lives,” they wrote.
“PLEASE let @BrittanyLynne stand up for herself and respond to the uninformed, sad excuses for journalist- who don’t even KNOW HER!? When does this end? Just because she doesn’t agree with a communist regime doesn’t make her grounds for their attacks!” another person said, who then suggested that “The View” should be canceled.
Moreover, Brittany Mahomes refused to back down in the face of the harsh criticism, stating, “I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood. There’s not reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well.”
The NFL wife further spoke about the hostile response to her liking the Trump post, claiming, “I think the main thing, you know, he always told me is like, stop caring what people think, especially the people that don’t even know you. And so I think social media used to get to me a lot, and now it’s just like, ‘Honestly, I don’t give a F-*-*-* [she spelled the word out] what people have to say about me anymore, and I think he’s helped me get to that point to where I’m strong in who I am; I’m confident in who I am.”

Former President Trump also thanked Mahomes for standing up for him, saying, “I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country,” Trump said. “With Crime and Illegal Immigration totally out of control, INFLATION Ravaging all Americans, and a World that is laughing at the stupidity of our hapless “leaders,” it is nice to see someone who loves our Country, and wants to save it from DOOM.”
