The castle-like house called Houghton Hall is built in the style of a combination of Georgian architecture and English landscaping. The floor of the house is lined with black stone slabs with a diamond pattern, fireplaces, niches, pediments and busts are made by the Flemish sculptor John Michael Risbrak.
